Textile Wall Art

Every time we weave a new tweed, the old warp has to be attached to the new warp with 696 knots. Each has to be tied by hand with a special weavers knot. By joining the two warps together we don't have to rethread the entire loom every time we weave a new tweed, it still takes several hours to complete this step though! Once we have started weaving the ends are cut off. We leave a nice section of weaving on each end and tie-in as neatly as possible so that when these sections are removed they can be used to create beautiful wall hangings. Each unique, tactile and fascinating to explore with the eye they work framed or hung from a piece of driftwood or dowel.
